Conference Presentation:
Migrating from Traditional BI to Modern Enterprise Analytics Architectures

Is Enterprise BI dead? Many believe so, and it's being replaced by more agile, collaborative approaches of modern Enterprise Analytics. Enterprise BI was born in the 1990's, fundamentally enabled by the data warehouse and a shared data semantic that enabled users to interact with data without requiring an understanding of the underlying database structure. Now, however, a confluence of ubiquitous connectivity, impatient users, enhanced compute power, and the rise of collaboration have shaken EBI at its core, bringing about data and analytical extensions to meet additional needs.
Enterprise Analytics leverages IT and engineering resources to provide a shared, secure data asset, but also fosters an ecosystem where analytics evolve through creativity, exploration, collaboration and sharing. IT becomes a strategic enabler, providing a centralized BI and data services platform. Meanwhile, business analysts and data scientists drive business innovation through self-service analytics technologies that leverage and extend a shared corporate data asset. In this presentation, we'll discuss trends that have been driving the shift from EBI to EA, examining new data architectures that inspire collaboration and self-service, while reviewing the technology components that are part of a modern Enterprise Analytics architecture.
